WEDDING MAGIC IN KETTERING
Local Experience at Kettering Wedding Venues
Great wedding magic isn't simply about performing tricks. It's about knowing when entertainment will add to the day — and when your guests should simply be left to enjoy it.
Matthew has performed at Kettering Park Hotel on around ten occasions. Being only around 15 minutes from home, it's a venue he knows particularly well.
The reception area near the entrance works naturally for close-up magic during the drinks reception. While photographs are taking place, guests are often standing with a drink, catching up with friends and family — exactly the point at which relaxed, interactive magic can create some energy and get different groups talking.
Later, magic can move with the wedding rather than competing with it: around the tables, between appropriate parts of the meal, or as fresh entertainment when evening guests begin arriving.

Local Knowledge. Professional Experience.
Kettering isn't simply another town on a list of areas covered. Matthew is based in Northamptonshire, with Kettering only around 15 minutes from home, and has been performing at venues and events across the area for many years.
Kettering Conference Centre
Matthew has performed close-up magic at Kettering Conference Centre, adding another very different type of local venue to his Kettering experience.
Corporate entertainment needs to fit the event rather than dominate it. Close-up magic can work particularly well during drinks, networking periods and the more relaxed parts of an evening, giving guests something to share without stopping the rest of the event.
Beaumont Paddocks & Desborough
The local connection extends beyond Kettering itself. Matthew has performed at weddings at Beaumont Paddocks near Desborough, as well as events in neighbouring towns and villages throughout this part of Northamptonshire.
He's also worked in nearby Rothwell, including private events and local venues, so travelling around the Kettering area is simply part of his normal working territory.
Your Entertainment Should Fit Your Event
A wedding drinks reception, corporate dinner, private house party and theatre audience don't need the same performance. The right magic depends on the room, the timings, the number of guests and what else is happening around them.
With more than 20 years of professional experience, Matthew can recommend what will work — whether that's relaxed close-up magic, entertainment around the tables or a performance for the whole audience.

MORE THAN WEDDING MAGIC
From Boughton House to the Kettering Stage
Matthew's experience around Kettering goes well beyond weddings. Over the years he has performed everything from outdoor family entertainment and close-up magic to after-dinner cabaret and full stage shows.
OUTDOOR EVENTS • FAMILY SHOWS • STAGE MAGIC
Three Years at Boughton House
One of Matthew's more unusual Kettering bookings has been performing at the Rat Race Runstock event at Boughton House.
Matthew returned to the event over three years, entertaining runners and their families with family magic shows during the daytime before switching styles for the evening programme and performing a show on the main event stage.
It's a good example of why experience matters. Entertainment for families relaxing during an outdoor sporting event needs a completely different pace from a stage audience later that evening — even though both are part of the same event.
Daytime family entertainment, outdoor performances and an evening stage show — all as part of the same event at Boughton House.
ANOTHER KETTERING LANDMARK
Performing at Wicksteed Park
Matthew has also performed at Wicksteed Park in several very different settings.
That has included walk-around entertainment in the grounds, close-up magic at indoor events and after-dinner cabaret.
Being able to move between these different formats means the entertainment can be chosen for the event itself rather than trying to make one type of magic fit every situation.
Close-Up Magician. Stage Performer.
Close-up magic may be perfect for many events, but Matthew is equally at home when the whole audience needs to watch together.
The Masque Theatre
Matthew has performed as part of a full live magic production at The Masque Theatre in Kettering, appearing alongside other professional magicians in a show created for a theatre audience.
It was proper theatre magic rather than close-up performed on a larger platform — material selected to play to an audience watching together.
Kettering Lions
Matthew has also appeared in a public fundraising magic show organised with the Northamptonshire Magicians' Club for Kettering Lions.
Ticketed public shows are a very different environment from walking into a wedding reception — the audience has arrived specifically to be entertained, so the material, pacing and presentation have to deliver accordingly.
