Creating Moments Between the Big Moments
A wedding already has its headline moments — the ceremony, speeches, cake cutting and first dance. Some of the best opportunities for entertainment, though, happen in between.
Close-up magic gives guests something unexpected to experience together during the drinks reception, around the tables or as the evening celebration begins. It breaks the ice without interrupting the flow of the wedding.
Kilworth House is one of the beautiful Leicestershire wedding venues where I’ve had the pleasure of performing, and a perfect example of the kind of setting where interactive magic can become part of the atmosphere of the day.

Perfect for the Drinks Reception
The drinks reception is one of my favourite times to perform at a wedding. Guests are relaxed, people are moving naturally between groups and the bride and groom are often away having photographs taken.
Rather than guests simply waiting for the next part of the day, close-up magic creates little pockets of laughter, astonishment and conversation throughout the reception.
I’ve performed for wedding guests at The Woodlands at Hothorpe, another of the Leicestershire venues that demonstrates just how naturally this style of entertainment works during a wedding celebration.

My connection with Leicester goes back many years. I was previously the resident magician at Leicester City Football Club, entertaining guests at the club's historic Filbert Street ground.
It remains a particularly special part of my history in the city — performing for guests at the Foxes' famous former home before the club moved to its new stadium in 2002.

Some bookings become much more than a single event. For 12 consecutive years, I’ve been welcomed back to Ragdale Hall Spa in Leicestershire to perform close-up magic for guests every Christmas Eve.

Returning Year After Year
Christmas Eve at Ragdale Hall Spa has become one of those events I genuinely look forward to each year. I begin by performing close-up magic around the tables during the evening meal, moving between groups and creating plenty of laughter, conversation and those wonderfully impossible moments.
As the evening continues and guests move through to the lounge areas, so does the magic. The style becomes even more relaxed and informal, with small groups gathering around to watch, react and enjoy the entertainment together.
There’s always a lovely atmosphere and real Christmas spirit. Being invited back every Christmas Eve for 12 consecutive years is something I value enormously — and, for me, there’s no better recommendation than a venue continuing to welcome you back.
